Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information Classic Taste collects through this website and our trade portal, why we collect it, who helps us handle it, and how you can see or correct it.
Who we are
Classic Taste is a New Zealand-owned food wholesaler based in Auckland. We pack spices, herbs and pantry staples and supply them to grocers, fruit and vege stores and specialty food shops around New Zealand. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Classic Taste.
What we collect
We collect only the information below.
- Enquiry form: when you contact us through this website, the name, business name, email address, phone number, town and message you type in.
- Spam limiting: a hashed (scrambled, one-way) version of your IP address when you submit a form, so we can limit spam.
- Trade portal: for approved trade customers, the account details we hold for the business and its users, and the order history for that account.
- Login cookies: small files that keep you signed in to the trade portal (see “Cookies” below).
Why we collect it
We use enquiry details to reply to you and to follow up your enquiry. We use trade account details and order history to set up and run your account, take and deliver your orders and answer questions about them. We use the hashed IP address only to limit spam.
Cookies
We use essential login cookies only, and only for people who sign in to the trade portal. We do not use advertising cookies or analytics cookies on this website.
Who handles information for us
We use these service providers to run this website and portal. Each handles information only to provide its service to us.
- Resend sends our emails, such as replies to enquiries and order emails. It sees the recipient address and the message.
- Vercel hosts this website and the trade portal, and stores files uploaded with trade account applications.
- Neon hosts the database where enquiries, trade accounts and order history are stored.
- Unleashed, our inventory and ordering system, holds trade customer, order and delivery details.
- Xero, our accounting system, holds trade customer invoices and account balances.
- Google Maps and OpenStreetMap turn business addresses into map locations. When you view our Where to buy map, your browser loads map images from OpenStreetMap.
Storage outside New Zealand
These providers may store or process information on servers outside New Zealand. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect it.
Trade account applications
If you apply for a trade account, the information we collect about your business, its owners, directors and guarantors, and how we use and share it, is set out in clause 16 of our Terms of sale. See the Terms of sale page on this website.
Seeing and correcting your information
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us for the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Email customerservices@classictaste.co.nz and tell us what you need. If you are not happy with how we handle a request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website and portal change. The current version is always on this page.
